Around 70 boats gathered in Brittany for the Rendez-Vous de la Belle Plaisance, now a key event in the Challenge Classique Manche Atlantique, run under the aegis of the Yacht Club Classique and classic yacht rating system.Among the exceptional yachts on the water at this 20th edition was Viola, owned by YCM member Kostia Belkin, enjoying races run between the Glénan and Odet islands. Built in 1908 at the Fairlie yard in Scotland by the famous designer, William Fife, the man behind YCM’s flagship Tuiga (1909), Viola is classed as an historic monument in France. A well-deserved 3rd place adds another trophy to an already long list of awards for Kostia Belkin, including the Monaco Classic Week Trophy in 2017.
The spirit of tradition is coming to Monaco soon with the 15th Monaco Classic Week (8-12 September 2021).
