Thanks to her restoration, Emilia recovered her original rig and sail plan. This extremely fast boat won the André Mauric Trophy in Marseille in 1999.

The hull is a 12-Metre designed by Attilio Costaguta (only one other 12-Meter, La Spina, was built in Italy before the war), which the Senator Giovanni Agnelli wished to give to his sailing enthusiast son-in-law, Giovanni Nasi. However, Nasi had to give her up when he moved to South America, and her new owners, the Bruzzone brothers, preferred simply to have a fast cruising boat instead of a “racing beast”. A complete restoration at the Becconcini shipyard, directed by Ugo Faggioni, from 1988 to 1990, returned Emilia to her original sail plan, and required the replacing of the majority of her frames and mahogany planking.
